Huge Dodge Hellcat Demand Means Production Has Now Doubled
Dodge’s Charger and Challenger Hellcats have probably generated as many headlines for supply issues as they have for their enormous power outputs. Dodge simply hasn’t been able to keep up with what it’s labelled as "unprecedented" demand.
However, there are plans afoot to get more people behind the wheel of the 707hp (697bhp) twins. Most importantly, Dodge has announced that production is set to "significantly increase." And that’s no exageration, Dodge and SRT’s CEO Tim Kuniskis said that the company will be "more than doubling our SRT Hellcat production for 2016." Should do.
In addition, unscheduled 2015 Hellcat orders will be cancelled, with buyers offered a discount on a 2016 model year example. The wait will no doubt be disappointing for those buyers, but their patience will be rewarded with the plusher leather interior and upgraded infotainment system that the 2016 MY car will be receiving.
