That’s such an amateur mistake to make as well. I learned this the FIRST WEEK on school as a car mechanic. I can imagine that they got to hear it from you after the accident ;)
Even the bolts got more tourque than a Honda
I always thought it was the responsibility of the vehicle owner to re check the torque of the bolts after a few miles of driving.
Still glad no one was hurt.
You could say he had a wheely bad time…
And yet I (nor any tire shop in my country) have never used a torque wrench for tightening wheel bolts and have never had any issues. Usually the practice is either tighten with the air impact wrench until it stops (hmm now that I think of it maybe that stops at a certain torque) or tighten by hand until you can’t tighten it anymore then step on the wrench a couple of times to tighten further.
Edit: I know this is wrong on so many levels and I will probably start using a torque wrench from now on. :)
“or tighten by hand until you can’t tighten it anymore then step on the wrench a couple of times to tighten further.” Balkan things… united we stand hahahah
exantly this happend today someone on the autobahn infornt of me…i think i never braked that hard…. thankfull no one got injured
