I took a couple of friends for a scenic drive through the German countryside and it was fun.

I had an awesome couple of days at the Nürburgring getting myself better acquainted with the famous track also known as “The Green Hell”.
I drove a selection of cars from Ring Garage, starting with the Car Throttle Toyota #CT86 on the first day, the Porsche Carrera on the second day, and finally back to my favourite, the BMW M3 on the final day.
The last day was the only that had a full dry track after a few days of bad weather, and unfortunately just before the end of the manufacturer test sessions, there was a major crash at the Flugplatz section, meaning a big section of high-speed was slowed down by marshalls for repairs.
I’d already lined up the M3 for it, but because my target lap time could not possibly be reached, I took a few of my friends for a couple of rides around “The Ring” instead. This lap we just happened to head out through the toll gates directly behind the new BMW M5 Official “Ring Taxi”, so I tagged along for a little bit of fun.
Enjoy the video!

Damn good driver right there! And especially good considering you usually drive upside down! ;)
Yeah, the GoPro was also mounted upside-down, he had to edit that footage to be watchable in our part of the world.
I wish I was there! But I am glad you enjoyed the ride! See you next time!
Man, it was so satisfying seeing you reign in that M5 in the corners.
You mean M3?
I think you mean “Renn Taxi”
Look at his name ;)
That’s a pun to Renn Taxi ;) Because his name is RENato.
Damn, that was really fast. Especially considering things always look slower on camera. Nice driving :)
What company is it that you rent the cars from?
Ring Garage, the one with CT86. www.r-garage.de
None of them screamed?
After a few days, I’m sure they were confident with his driving and knew the track.
So managed to hone in your skills over the first few days? Would be good to see if you were cautious on the first day… your BMW video seems to indicate that you wouldn’t have been! We’re sending a winner on a Nurburgring trip soon, too, looking forward to the outcome!
My first lap there on each day is about 85% of that pace you could say. Because the track condition changes so much in different places, I use the first lap to gauge the surface, the track condition etc. And then I build pace in the following laps.
Now you know what I feel like when I drive my miata around the track.
epic driving!
