The Inevitable Porsche Cayenne Coupe Has Arrived With Up To 542bhp
That Porsche has decided to turn the Cayenne into the latest member of the bizarrely popular SUV ‘coupe’ sub-genre is not surprising at all. If anything, it’s weird that it’s taken Stuttgart this long to join the slightly obnoxious club that was kicked off by the BMW X6 some 12 years ago.
The other thing that’s odd? The new Porsche Cayenne Coupe is actually pretty easy on the eye. Granted, it’s no Panamera Sport Turismo, but it might just be the best-looking of all the ‘sport activity coupes’.
Compared to the regular Cayenne, the Coupe has a shallower A-pillar, a roof that’s 20mm lower, and redesigned rear doors that give the car an 18mm wider rear.
To compensate for the new sloping silhouette, the rear-seat passengers sit 30mm lower, so you shouldn’t get any complaints about headroom. You will only get two people back there, though, as the revamped rear bench has been transformed into a strict two-seater arrangement.
Boot space has taken a hit, dropping by around 120kg. You do still have 625 litres to play with, however, and that figure jumps to 1540 litres if you fold the rear bench down.
You get a fixed panoramic glass roof as standard, or if you want, an optional one made out of carbonfibre. Take a look a little further to the back, and you’ll find an active rear spoiler that extends by 135mm when you hit 56mph.
There’ll be a choice of two engines from launch. The base option is a 335bhp turbocharged V6, but if that sounds a little weak to you, there’s always the 542bhp Cayenne Coupe Turbo to consider. The former manages 0-62mph in six seconds dead, maxing out at 150mph, while the latter does the benchmark sprint in 3.9 seconds, going on to a top whack of 177mph. Both have the Sport Chrono package included in the standard spec.
The entry-level car is yours for £62,129, while the full-fat Turbo is £104,729. Both are available to order now and will land in the UK around May.

Coupé?????? Four doors?????? Who even thought about giving it the name coupé when they could’ve called it something like a Cayenne Fastback that’d be a lot cooler
Hence the inverted comma usage ;)
I’m sorry 🥰🥰🥰
Goddamn I was bloody right
Therefore, a coupe is not in fact a full-size SUV

How about we call those “coupé” SUV’s humpback instead? Because it looks like a dog while humping.

Porsche managed to design the car to look subtly slanted, so it doesn’t look bad at all
