Italian Or German Cars? The Results

We asked you to help settle an office bet and you voted in your hundred(s). Here are the results

A £2 office bet recently spiralled out of control and threatened to result in an outbreak of grievous bodily harm. Thankfully, we decided to back down in favour of a CT poll, letting you - our audience - decide on the ultimate victor.

The question - which country produces the best cars: Italy or Germany? In the green, white and red corner (that's Italia), we have cars like the Ferrari 458, Maserati Quattroporte and the Abarth 500. And in the simply white corner, the Audi R8, E63 AMG and BMW M135i.

The winner, by a tiny 5 votes, turned out to be Italy! With 52% of the vote versus 48% for Germany, it looks like CT'ers love the heart-racing design that Italians seem to churn out versus Bavarian efficiency. In total we had 117 votes cast over a week, so thanks for your input.

Our hearty congratulations go out to Italy. But what contentious issue would you like to see settled next via a public poll? Let us know in the comments. The grudge continues...
