It's Official: The Lexus LF-NX SUV Concept Is More Striking Than A Punch In The Face
With the 2013 Frankfurt motor show just around the corner, we've had a flurry of cool and interesting concepts. There's been the 690bhp Audi Sport Quattro, Volvo's sexy Coupe concept, and the mental Toyota Yaris R Hybrid among many others. We could really do without this one from Lexus though. The LF-NX is, you guessed it, another compact SUV crossover.
But unlike the sexy Kia Niro crossover concept, this thing ain't pretty, looking like a Nissan Juke on steroids that's been severely beaten by the ugly stick and then ironed flat a few times...
The LX-NX features a brushed metal finish, said to give the impression that the whole thing has been carved from a single chunk of metal. The interior, meanwhile, isn't quite so unsightly, with smatterings of brushed metal to echo the exterior. The futuristic centre console is split into an upper display area and a lower operational area with touch-sensitive electrostatic switches. All this is 'Human Oriented'.
There are no details on what engine will be nestling under that excessively sculpted bonnet, but Lexus has revealed that it'll have a full hybrid drivetrain. Lexus is using this concept to explore the prospect for a potential future compact SUV model. If it does go down that road, let's hope what they come up with doesn't look quite so, erm, striking...
