The Jaguar E-Pace Is Now A Thing, And It Wants A Fight With The Audi Q3
Like the look of the F-Pace but want something ever so slightly smaller? Don’t worry, Jaguar has it covered.
The British car maker has just teased its latest crossover creation, the E-Pace. No, it’s not all-electric: that’s the I-Pace. Obviously.
Right now, the only official information we have is confirmation of the E-Pace name, “indicative pricing” of £28,500 and up, plus a full reveal date: 16 July. Oh, and we also know it’ll be a “compact performance SUV,” and so far as we can see, it’s going to be a tempting one in its corner of the market.
Although improved in the aesthetics department the BMW X1 still isn’t exactly a looker, while the Mercedes GLA is wanting for quality and is scarcely different to the cheaper A-Class. Then there’s the Audi Q3, which is crushingly dull. A stylish little Jag would be a nice alternative to all three, we reckon.
Engine-wise, we’re expecting a mix of 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol and diesel units, but probably no shouty supercharged V6, sadly.
We’ll bring you full details on the car on 16 June.

It’s an Evoque underneath
Why call it E-pace
It’s not eletrical, and it doesn’t have anything in common with the E-type
