Jaguar XKR-S Gets Even More Hardcore
To commemorate 25 years of “R”, Jaguar has unveiled this, the limited edition, £130,000 XKR-S GT.
More hardcore even than the XKR-S, the GT benefits from a raft of mechanical and aesthetic revisions. The bespoke aero package contains a carbon splitter, extended wheel arches, a rear diffuser and a hilariously oversized rear wing (on a Jag? Come on). Carbon-ceramic brakes, revised suspension and a faster steering system also feature.
Only 30 GTs will be built, 25 for the North Americans and five for the Canadians. Jag says it will consider building a few right-hand drive models if we Brits kick up enough of a fuss.
It's aged well, but the XK itself is seven years old now, and the GT is the latest in a long line of special editions. There’ve been at least nine, not including the GT. That's almost Porsche-esque. We wouldn't be surprised if Jag dropped the XKR-S GT R GTi on us before long.
Seriously, Jag, you’re gonna have to replace the XK sooner rather than later, so just bite the bullet and stop taunting us with these specials. Even if they are as wicked awesome as the GT. Ok?
