It’s been revealed that Oisin Tymon - the Top Gear producer who Jeremy Clarkson punched earlier this year - is suing both the former presenter and the BBC for racial discrimination. The case revolves around "verbal abuse" sustained by Tymon; eyewitnesses have previously alleged that he was called a “lazy Irish c***” by Clarkson during a lengthy rant at a hotel in Yorkshire, after the 55-year-old became enraged about the lack of hot food available following a shoot.

Clarkson’s legal team and the BBC met with Tymon’s lawyers for a closed-door hearing on Friday at an employment tribunal. Responding to the legal action, the BBC simply said, "we will be responding to this claim, but will not be commenting further at this time."

Having effectively lost his job due to the incident, Clarkson went on to be signed by Amazon Prime to produce a new car series, which will premiere next year.
