Jeremy Clarkson was the person responsible for initiatiating the investigation into his conduct following a ‘fracas’ with producer Oisin Tymon. BBC News reports that the TG host called BBC head of telvision Danny Cohen to report the incident, while Tymon is not believed to have made any formal complaints.

Interviews with those involved are expected to take place next week, however we won’t be hearing Tymon’s story any time soon; a lawyer representing the producer has said his client “intends to await the outcome of the BBC investigation and will make no comment until that investigation is complete.”

It is unclear exactly why Clarkson initiated the investigation process, however members of the public witnessed the argument, so it is likely the 54-year-old wanted to pre-empt the news being broken outside of his control.

The Ward family, who were staying at the hotel when the production crew arrived, told Sky News that Clarkson’s behaviour was “shocking.” Sue Ward recalled the incident, saying “[Jeremy Clarkson] said [Oisin Tymon] hadn’t done his job properly, it was ridiculous that there was nothing to eat, obviously there was lots of expletives in between all this, and that he would be losing his job, he would see to it that he would lose his job,” she said.

Sue’s brother-in-law Bob asked Jeremy for a photo before the incident, which he refused, saying “not with the day I’ve had today.”

It sounds like Clarkson had a rough day of filming and took his frustrations out in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and in the wrong way. We’ve all had tough days at work, but shouting and swearing in public isn’t an acceptable way to deal with it.
