LaFerrari Owner Claims He Called The Police After Getting Trapped Inside By Its Heavy Doors

This is one of those stories that gets weirder the more you read. It starts with 85-year-old Preston Henn, an entrepreneur and former racing driver. Already a LaFerrari owner, he asked FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne if he wouldn’t mind awfully selling him the Aperta version (pictured above) also, only to have his request denied.

Naturally, the next logical step was to sue Ferrari, “for reputational injury and the mortification caused by declaring him to be not qualified to purchase a LaFerrari Aperta,” according to Road and Track. Although the lawsuit has since been dropped due to the potentially astronomical costs involved.

Where it gets really interesting is his comments to R&T about his existing LaFerrari coupe. “I couldn’t get out of the car,” he said, adding: “I had to call the police to get me out of the car. What happened is I didn’t realise that door was as heavy as it was. Once I realised it, they could pull the door and get out and I had no problem. It is just not a comfortable car.” I suppose it probably isn’t, but you’d think comfort wouldn’t be so high on your priority list when buying a hybrid V12 hypercar.

Henn then proceeded to sing the praises of the new Honda NSX, which he deemed far superior to “not the La Ferrari, the last one I got, I forgot what it’s called, it was a Spider, whatever it is,” despite costing quite a bit less. He did not comment on its doors…

I’ve long said ‘entrepreneur’ was a synonym for *t. Turns out I was right.

It just sounds like he’s not liked and why call the police because your stuck in the car? Do people not like him that he has no friends to call to help?

Sorry but if this man doesn’t know the name of the last Ferrari e bought, which cost quite a bit less then a LaFerrari, he is not a true car guy and casts seriously dark shadows over all the rest he said.

These are the problems of a rich, old douchebag. Has to call the cops because he can’t get out of his LaFerrari

I think he completely made that up to try and get back at Ferrari for not letting him have the Aperta.
