Lamborghini Has Joined The Lego Speed Champions World
Prepare to be willed with want: there are two new Lego Speed Champions sets inbound. Both are models Lamborghini vehicles - a Huracan Super Trofeo Evo racer, and the mad Urus ST-X rallycross monster.
The 659-piece set - which includes both cars and start lights - marks Lamborghini’s first entry into the Speed Champions world. Each is more detailed than previous efforts from the Lego sub-brand thanks to an increase in size.
“2020 marks the start of a new chapter for LEGO Speed Champions with the evolution to the more accurate ‘Eight Studs Wide’ design and we felt that we could now do the popular brand justice,” said Chris Stamp, LEGO Speed Champions’ design boss.
As such, the Lego version of the latest Huracan racer includes all sorts of cool details like a shark fin, an air scoop and a front splitter. The proportions certainly look a lot better than previous, more narrow Speed Champions cars.
We aren’t given quite as good a look at the Urus, although it too seems nicely realistic for such a small model.
The Lego Lambos - which were shown off at the Super Trofeo World Finals in Jerez last weekend - will go on sale on 1 January 2020. Sadly, then, this won’t be something to add to your Christmas list.
