Okay, so maybe witchcraft is a little extreme, but Land Rover’s new All Terrain Progress Control is a bloody clever bit of kit.

At the push of a button, a myriad of sensors go on high alert, allowing your Range Rover to make smooth progress without the need for the driver to touch the pedals. Drivers can manually adjust the target speed up to 19mph, giving novice off roaders expert-like control.

The best part is that this option costs just £175 - compare that to the £1000 extra you need to stump up if you want the new Head-Up Display and it seems like a bargain.

Elsewhere Land Rover has worked on improving its 3.0-litre six-pot engines. The TDV6 now has improved economy thanks to a single turbo, rather than the old twin-turbo setup. Performance remains the same at 281bhp and 443lb ft of torque. The Sport’s SDV6 engine has also received some love, getting a 14bhp and 73lb ft bump, now making 302bhp and 516lb ft.
