Listen Up Internet: The Dubai Police Veyron Is A Filthy Fake

Kahn Design were shocked to discover that their old Veyron was the subject of spurious internet claims.

Over the weekend various automotive news sites such as Autoblog and AOL featured an image of what was reported to be the latest addition to Dubai Police's expanding fleet of exotic cop cars. What they didn't know, is that the image was a filthy Photoshop fake. The rumour mill initially kicked off when Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, tweeted a picture of a Veyron wearing their green and white livery.

Dubai Police have recently added a number of exotic vehicles to their fleet - including 2 Ferrari FFs, a Lamborghini Aventador and a rare Aston Martin One-77 - fuelling rumours that this was the latest addition.

Afzal Kahn contacted Car Throttle after the customer that purchased the car from him called to ask how an image of their vehicle had been used without permission. Kahn told us "it’s fun for the people who have nothing better to do than photoshop badly," however he was disappointed that this incident had lead to confusion for the customer.

Upon closer inspection of this low resolution masterpiece, the lack of Photoshop skills becomes evident:

Here we can see the badly coloured in Veyron alongside the original image, which has simply been flipped and the resolution turned down. In the background, Kahn Design HQ's hedges make the trip to Dubai, too.

Alloy

These Kahn Design Alloys are a dead giveaway.

Door line

Cops might have difficulty opening the door with the stickers overlapping like this.

Green stripe

Like a bored child this guy can't even colour up to the lines.

Grill

The wrappers had a lot of trouble getting the stripe on straight, as it unevenly straddles the grille.

Number Plate

Here we see the distinctive Kahn 'F1' number plate simply erased - surely the Dubai Police could afford to remove the UK plate and attach their own?

Siren

This poorly 'shopped light bar is at a jaunty angle, with the far side seemingly attached to the window.

Stripe

The Veyron's super smooth lines give away this jerky stripe that clearly doesn't run along the contours of the car.

Website

We're fairly sure that one way to ensure no traffic is driven to your website is to stick half of it inside the intake.

Here at Car Throttle we're experts in creating lustworthy vehicles with nothing but a mouse - our GT 86 Shooting Brake and F1 Inspired Twizy that was actually made by Renault are 2 shining examples. So please, if you want to create something unique on your computer; leave it to the professionals.
