The Lotus Evora Sport 410 Is A Lightweight Mid-Engined Weapon For People Who Don't Want A Porsche
Yep, Lotus has been at it again, tweaking one of its long-established cars to squeeze out another model. This time, its the Evora Sport 410: a lighter, more focused version of the Evora 400.
The front splitter, roof, tailgate, rear diffuser and sports seats are all now made out of carbonfibre, cutting the weight figure down to 1325kg from the 400’s 1395kg. Power is also up by 10bhp to 410bhp.
The 0-62mph time is unchanged for the manual at 4.2 seconds, but the auto model is a tenth of a second quicker than the equivalent two pedal 400 at 4.1 seconds. The more perceptible benefits should come from the handling side of things - Lotus says that the lower weight figure has allowed for a recalibration of the Evora’s suspension, which is now 5mm lower. Downforce is up by 15 per cent, too.
The price for all this? £79,900 for the 150 examples that’ll be made each year, up from the Evora 400’s £72,000. Well, all that fancy carbonfibre isn’t going to come cheap. So it’s this, or one of those rapidly appreciating Porsche Cayman GT4s from the classifieds…
