The LSD-Equipped Ford Focus RS Edition Is Yours For Just Under £36k

Remember the North America-bound Ford Focus RS Limited Edition? Here’s the European version. It’s called, err, the Edition, but other than the removal of the word ‘Limited’ from the name, it’s largely the same as the car across the pond, and now we know how much it costs: £35,795 - £3530 up from the standard car.

For that, buyers get a matt black roof, black mirrors, gloss black wheels, Nitrous Blue exterior paint, natty two-tone shells for the Recaro seats, a smattering of carbonfibre, and - most importantly - a Quaife limited-slip differential.

The LSD is fitting to the front axle to maximise traction, and it “seamlessly integrates with Focus RS driving technologies delivered as standard,” according to Ford. Yes, that means Drift Mode still works just fine. In fact, it might be even better with the front LSD installed.

“The new setup also delivers greater mechanical stability and control when braking hard, and will help drivers set the car up for power-slides using Drift Mode,” Ford Performance’s European director Leo Roeks says.

There are two people currently reported complete engine replacements after going through a headache with ford dealers about solving this issue. That alone should be a massive concern especially from Ford, secondly if you go LSD go RWD, i do not see point on AWD with sophisticated control and a LSD.

What about the combo RWD-LSD to drift? I mean the rs is sold as a drift car, but is anyone crazy enough to train drifting on a brand new car, and turn it into a drift missile?
