This LT1 Setup Is The Complete V8 Crate Drivetrain You Can’t Afford
The best place for a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS engine is, very obviously, under the bonnet of a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro SS.
This LT1 V8, though, was dropped out of a 12,000-mile donor car, presumably after an accident or because the owner wanted something a bit spicier than the mere 449bhp the 6.2-litre engine coughs out.
A full system, it’s almost totally intact and in full working order, as you can see from the Facebook video at the top. It comes with fuel tank, pedals, ECU and wiring looms, ABS unit, central locking system, instruments, eight-speed gearbox and radiator. The only thing that seems to be missing is the driver’s airbag, which backs the ‘accident damage’ theory for the block’s original home.
This is no old-school LS V8, boasting cylinder deactivation tech, direct injection and variable valve timing among its new-fangled acronyms. A meaty 455lb ft of torque backs up the power output, making this a serious piece of kit to install into your project car.
The price is just a little off-putting. Some $13,495 separates your build from the best Christmas present it has ever had. Do we have any lottery winners in the audience…?

even has the traction controll off, badass….:-D
LS3 sounds such better than the LT1 imo
Meh… Do the same with a BMW M57 all clapped out with over 800ft/lbs of fun and 30mpg
The same company does pallet build v8s from Mustangs and chargers etc. Usually out of totalled cars
Its a Crate engine on a Crate!
