The M235i-Based AC Schnitzer ACL-2 Is A 562bhp M4-Engined Monster

To showcase its range of 2-series updates, AC Schnitzer has created this beast out of a BMW M235i, with a little firepower borrowed from the M4

Are you the sort of madman that looks at the BMW M2 and thinks ‘well, that looks a bit wet’? We have some good news, as someone’s made a car just for you. It’s called the ACL-2, it’s the work of BMW tuners AC Schnitzer, and it’s thoroughly bonkers.

There are the obviously mad bits like the carbonfibre bodykit and ‘Classic Racing Green’ paint, but arguably the largest serving of crazy has been saved for under the bonnet: the 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight-six from the BMW M4.

Not content with the extra poke the 424bhp M Division lump brings, AC has also given it a jolly good tune, bringing the total violence to 562bhp and 545lb ft of torque. This means the ACL-2 can do 0-62mph in 3.9 seconds, and 0-124mph in 10.9 seconds. Oh, and the top speed is 205mph. Cripes.

Keeping all that in check is AC Schnitzer’s adjustable ‘Clubsports’ suspension, a Drexler limited-slip differential and beefy six-piston front/four-piston rear brakes with carbon ceramic discs.

The inside hasn’t been left alone, either. There are lashings of green leather to match the exterior paintwork, a new steering wheel, carbonfibre bucket seats and a wide range of shiny bits like new pedals and a new gear knob.

Want one? Sorry, you can’t buy this thing as the AC Schnitzer ACL-2 “is a handmade unique creation not for sale, with an estimated value of €149,000.” However, much of the car’s modifications are from AC Schnitzer’s range of 2-series upgrades and are available for Joe Public to purchase.

The car will make its debut at the Geneva motor show next week.
