Mansory has never been a bastion of subtlety, but its latest work might just find itself sitting the right side of insane. The already not-so-subtle Mercedes S63 AMG has been given a sinister makeover by the Bavarian tuner, offering up a whopping 986bhp and electronically limited torque of 1033lb ft in top-spec M1000 guise. Loads of power, subtle aesthetic improvements; tuning done right.

There are two performance kits available. The M800 variant (also know as the ‘wuss model’) makes a not-insubstantial 789bhp and 885lb ft of torque. That’s enough to shift your hefty waft-mobile to 62mph from standstill in 3.6 seconds.

Opt for the M1000 - the full fat, thousand horses option - and your right boot will have a heavily revised engine at its command. Uprated parts include connecting rods, big end bearings, crankshaft, turbocharger and much more. Combined with the new pipe fan manifold this results in hypercar humbling horsepower from a luxury limo. To reiterate: 986bhp, 1033lb ft, 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds.

Style-wise Mansory hasn’t gone too mad, opting for mild exaggeration rather than an ostentatious wealth parade. The front bumper has been redesigned to incorporate LED daytime running lights, while the bonnet receives a subtle groove cut through its centre. The front arches have been widened slightly, and round the back a bootlid spoiler adds to the subtle aerodynamic addendum. A redesigned rear bumper looks like a diffuser, but isn’t, housing the new sports exhaust’s twin exits, promising ‘a throaty and imposing sound.’

The interior hasn’t escaped Mansory’s deft touch, either. There are leather-framed floor mats and a new steering wheel, but customers can work with the company to create a completely bespoke cabin.

Fancy hypercar-bothering performance, but can’t do without cruising in sumptuous comfort? Christmas just came early.
