McLaren Has (Sort Of) Revealed The Entry-Level 570S, The First Car From Its 'Sports Series' Model Range

That orange, triangular buttress right there belongs to the 570S, McLaren’s new entry-level supercar, and the first of its ‘Sports Series’ model range. The name likely references the car’s power output (as it does in the 650S), meaning we’re looking at 570ps, or 562bhp, from a detuned version of McLaren’s 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8.

That positions it squarely in the face of the Audi R8 and Porsche 911 Turbo, with McLaren looking to expand its reach into new markets. It wants to keep manufacturing costs as low as possible, and is doing this by keeping largely the same underpinnings across its Sports Series, Super Series and Ultimate Series cars.

The McLaren 570S will be fully unveiled at the 115th New York International Auto Show next Wednesday.
