The Mercedes-AMG GT-R Will Say Its 570bhp Hello At Goodwood Next Month
Want a little more bite from the Mercedes-AMG GT? You’ll be wanting the AMG GT-R. It’s been rumoured for a while now, and has been spotted undergoing testing numerous times. But if you’re desperate to see what this thing looks like, you won’t have to wait: according to Autocar, it’ll be making its debut at next month’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
We can expect a new aero package, track-biased suspension, bigger brakes and more power. Exactly how much extra power is not yet known, but Autocar seems to think 570bhp is the figure based on information from its sources. It’ll use the same dry-sumped, twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 as the GT and GT S.
The price for all this? Well, given that the GT S is £110,500 and the GT-R is expected to be a limited-run affair, expect the price tag to be closer to the £150,000 mark.

is it actually that low?
if it is then it’s must be merc’s strategy so that owner can’t lower it much more to ruin it.
It’s a render
And I nearly thought that Mercedes had teamed up with Nissan for some crazy GT-R thing…Or I was going crazy.Turns out it was neither of those things. What it actually is, is a AMG GT-S, renamed a GT-R, and more BHP, bigger brakes and all sorts of changes I haven’t mentioned.
I’ll hopefully be going if anyone wants to see it…
But the question is, will there be a suspiciously green AMG GT that is fully electric and requires a 60 or 80’s Rock cd to play just so you don’t fall asleep (hopefully standard)
You could say this tire is pretty, depressed (ba-dum-tsst)
Hopefully there will be an optional Genesis playlist
Mercedes-AMG GT-E U2 Edition. I honestly wouldn’t mind that now that I think about it
Cue smoke, tyre shreds and flames after a lap
And the R35 GT-R will still be unimpressed.
Slow? I love the internet, where a 570hp car is considered slow.
R35 fanboys again, what a surprise…
Damn, now I can’t decide between a GTR or a tuned GTR.
The next GT-R everyone will talk about!
dude….that’s invalid why? shareholdings
Not gonna happen tho, Mercedes has used the GTR name before on their other previous cars
