Michael Schumacher Finally Being Awoken From Coma
The doctors treating Michael Schumacher have begun to reduce his sedation as they begin "the waking up process."
The seven-time Formula 1 world champion has been in a coma in a Grenoble hospital since suffering severe head injuries in a skiing accident on December 29.
Schumacher's management has warned that although the waking up process is good news, it "may take a long time."
Addressing the fact that information about his waking up process had appeared in French newspapers before an official statement had been released, Schumacher's management confirmed that "for the protection of the family, it was originally agreed by the interested parties to communicate this information only once this process was consolidated."
Schumacher's manager also thanked fans, stating "the family wishes to express sincere appreciation for the worldwide sympathy."
