Milestone and Sébastien Loeb Create Exciting New Rally Game For 2015

Over the last few months, while the rest of the world was losing faith in the DiRT franchise, the team at Milestone was quietly working on its newest game, Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO. Now, the developers are opening up about the contents of the game with its dev journal and the first round of screenshots. The game is expected to hit PC, Steam OS, PS4 and Xbox One in all markets by the end of the year.

What makes this new game so great? For one, the most successful WRC driver of all time happens to be the face of the game. Sébastien’s commitment to providing a realistic rally experience to gamers is unmatched. He hopes through his collaboration with Milestone, that gamers from around the world will be able to participate in the excitement that he lives through his career. The game allows for more people to enjoy the rush of rally racing who would otherwise never be able to experience it first hand in the real world.

Milestone, the studio developing and publishing the game, is no stranger to racing games. Just in the last couple years, it has released MotoGP 13 & 14, WRC 4 and MXGP. This month, the studio will release RIDE, which has been called the Assetto Corsa of motorcycle racing games with over 100 bikes and outstanding graphics. Milestone is very different from other studios because it does so much work in-house. Design, development, production, R&D, artwork, marketing and sales are all parts of the process that others may outsource, but Milestone has it all covered.

The studio has confirmed it will have over 50 car models in the game from over 20 manufactures. The models have been replicated with exact measurements directly from those manufacturers to perfectly recreate each car. Judging from its past games, there should be an impressive level of details on the cars. We can at least expect the Audi R8 LMS Ultra, Citroën C-Elysée WTCC and Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars to show up in the game. Since it spans several years of WRC racing, we are confident that there will be plenty more from the Loeb garages of the past.

We’ve been told that there will be 15 different game modes, which include Career Mode with training tips from Sébastien Loeb, Offline Challenges and Multiplayer Racing online. The online competition will include special events and one-on-one racing. As it stands now, the races will take place in eight different rallies, five rallycross tracks and, of course, Pikes Peak.

Now for something a little out of the ordinary…the Milestone Faces programme! Submit a few photos of yourself with the Permission and Release form found on its webpage, and you could find yourself immortalised as a character in one of Milestone’s next titles. Since Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO is currently in development, some of the faces submitted now will be included as avatars in the release. Can you imagine the moment you show your mates that you’ve been made into a character in the next big racing game? If even one Car Throttle member makes it into the game, it will be a victory for the whole community.
