My #CTTestimony
Hello everyone! This is my CT Testimony and I’m going to tell you how I joined this amazing petrolhead website and how I like it now.
I’ll try to make it short but solid. Here I go.
Hello everyone! This is my CT Testimony and I’m going to tell you how I joined this amazing petrolhead website and how I like it now.
I’ll try to make it short but solid. Here I go.
First things first, I made an account here approximately around October 29, 2014 but I didn’t bother touching it for a few months because I had no content to post in CarThrottle during that time, and I was still a fledgling petrolhead. A Thug Chick.
I found out about this website thanks to the now corrupted Car Memes Facebook page, and I was delighted when I saw that the community in the original website was more lax, kinder, and overall smarter than the general Facebook public in terms of cars and other things as well! No stupid Honda bashing, no BS unrelated posts and stupid controversial jokes, it was all just about cars and camaraderie.
Soon enough I was making more and more posts, and the longer I stayed in this website, the more car knowledge and overall positive attitude of this community seeped unto me, and I won’t deny that it helped me shape up my own personality as well!
I was also around when our beloved supercar loving friend Momo passed away; The sad time when CarThrottle bonded together to show our respect for a lost brother in heart. It was a somber moment that surely couldn’t have happened in any other social media website. Even till now, when he is mentioned, we show our respects for him the same way we do for another well known and loved petrolhead Paul Walker.
You two will be missed as always.
R.I.P.
Soon enough, I was catching up upon being a true petrolhead, and I found the Japanese car scene the most interesting for me. Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, you name them.
Something about their generally scrappy yet highly variable nature makes it seem like the car community I can relate to the most and filled with awesome cars that are quite attainable. Especially with Toyota, a car brand I’ve been associated with since I was a wee baby.
Alright now, enough about me, and more about experiences!
I personally believe CarThrottle IS one of the best social media websites out there, and despite having a community smaller than that of Facebook or Twitter or Instagram, I think it has a community far better off than most of them, and I’m not saying this in a biased mindset, but really, comparing the general community of the latter websites compared to here, its a fresher environment!
Then during the summer of 2015, I was cordially invited by another CT user by the name Illuminati to become part of the #IOCT (but I still won’t tell you what it means; the consequences are severe!), and so I did.
As a result, my car knowledge and overall behavior online and in real life improved thanks to the constant positivity this website exhibits, so, the reason on why I became a true petrolhead was mostly because of you guys! :)
As for you, new CTzens, here is a piece of advice from me.
DO NOT treat this website like it is Facebook or Twitter, and act accordingly and politely to everyone.
DO make original content whether it be an ordinary picture or a blog like this one.
DO NOT repost too much and spread out false and/or irrelevant information or content.
DO post relevant comments and posts in the appropriate categories in post making and comments based on the appropriate given context of a post.
DO NOT be a toxic and malicious user. It is bad for everyone and it could be contagious. (See Car Memes on Facebook)
So, that is all. This is my CT Testimony.
Thank you for reading this all the way!
Adnan, you have truly made an amazing social media website.
Thug Bird, out. B-)

Great story bro. Thanks for all you do for CT.
Wait why FB page Car Memes is corrupted ? I’ve seen that a lot of people are saying not so good stuff about it, or is it just me ??
