The New BMW Z4 Has Been Given A 400bhp AC Schnitzer Makeover
A day on from announcing its tuning programme for the A90 GR Supra, German tuner AC Schnitzer has confirmed it’ll offer a range of bits and pieces for the Toyota’s drop-top sister car.
We’re talking about the G29 BMW Z4 M40i, and since it’s much the same underneath as the new Supra, all of the new parts that are offered will sound quite familiar.
There’s the same increase in power and torque to 394bhp and 443lb ft and an exhaust system that works together with the factory-fitted gasoline particulate filters. You have a choice between carbon or black anodised stainless steel tailpipes. Fancy.
Providing another dose of Morpheus-troubling deja vu are the two 20-inch wheel sets and the 25mm drop afforded by the coilovers. Alternatively, you can drop the ride by 15mm with a set of new springs.
There are some differences in the range modifications offered, though. Since the Z4 looks quite different from the Supra and is a convertible, it gets its own set of visual tweaks.
There’s a new front splitter, a two-piece rear spoiler, angry bonnet vents and sportier side skirts on the menu. Oh, and a neat array of AC Schnitzer badges.
The 20i and 30i models aren’t left out - the inline-four-powered Z cars can be fitted with all of the above aesthetic enhancements. Plus, there are AC Schnitzer spring kits available for the two ‘lesser’ Z4s, dropping the ride height by either 25 or 35mm at the front and 20 - 30mm at the rear.
Which do you prefer: the Schnitzer’d Z4 or the GR Supra?

399HP and 600Nm for non-rеtаrds

How many washing machines are those?
Can’t believe I’m saying this again, but:
For the sake of neatness and consistency, we stick with one set of figures and stick with them. Lb ft makes most sense given the above.
Oh and 394bhp is not 394hp.

I honestly couldn’t agree more.
Great write up thanks Matt.
