The New Honda Civic Type R Will Set You Back £30,995 And Up
We know it looks bonkers, we know it’s a Nurburgring record holder, and now we know how much it costs. Honda has today revealed that its new ‘FK8’ Civic Type R hot hatch nutter will set you back £30,995 on the road, an increase of just under £1000 relative to the old model.
It’s also over a grand less than the Ford Focus RS, for which you’ll need to stump up £32,265, and slightly more than a five-door Seat Leon Cupra, which is £30,455.
Go for the GT pack - which the vast majority of FK2 Type R buyers did - and the price increases to £32,995. Do that, and you get blind spot monitoring, a cross traffic monitor, dual-zone climate control, an auto-dim rear view mirror, Garmin satellite navigation, wireless charging and an upgraded audio system. Oh, and some nice LED front fog lights.
Prefer to spread the cost a bit? You’re looking at “monthly payments in line” with the outgoing Type R, which means it’ll be in the region of £299 a month on a three year, 5.9 per cent deal.
The new Type R is available to order now, and will be gracing Honda showrooms with its unsubtle presence from next month onwards.
