A New, Potentially Less Ugly Nissan Juke Is On The Way
Even if you get on with the quirky looks, the Nissan Juke isn’t a crossover that can be recommended particularly strongly. It’s been kicking around for over nine years now and is consequently feeling its age.
With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Nissan has whipped up an all-new version. The full reveal won’t be until next month, but the Japanese manufacturer has given us an early preview courtesy of this camouflaged test mule.
Final judgement will, of course, have to wait until we see an undisguised version, but so far, it’s looking like it’ll be easier on the eye than the outgoing version. It’s retained the weird low-lying oval headlights, but the indicator/daytime running light clusters above no long stretch their way up the bonnet. Sitting nicely in the middle is Nissan’s ‘V-Motion’ grille.
It’s bigger than the old one, too. Auto Express reports that the Juke has grown 35mm width, 105mm in wheelbase and 75mm in height. This helps boot space jump from 354 to 422 litres, and should give a much roomier interior. Despite the size increase, it’s 23kg lighter, and also stiffer.
Under that slightly less controversial bonnet, you’ll find a 1.0-litre DIG-T petrol engine shared with the Nissan Micra. It’s good for 115bhp. Want more power? We suspect there’ll be more engines on the way eventually, potentially including a circa-200bhp inline-four making its way into a new Juke Nismo.
In standard form, the Juke will make its debut on 3 September.

Top 10 sequels that nobody asked for
The only Juke sequel I want to see is the follow up to this.
Seems alright… As long as it doesn’t keep those out-of-place DRLs.
On some cars it looks ok-ish, but my God the idiot who designed Hyundai Kona was tripping on some serious acid. What’s the point of blinkers if they’re put 20 cm of the ground and not even car behind him at stop/traffic light doesn’t sees them for s#!t
Hot take: The Juke isn’t ugly, it’s quirky
Something like the astek
no
I agree with u the Juke, Juked out the the Aztek lol 😂
You mean a less quirky version, the rain cars are getting bland isn’t because of EVs, is because whenever car companies do something interesting and quirky like the Juke people take the piss.
“quirky” Just because Nissan decided to put a high chair in an oatmeal fwd hatchback, doesn’t mean it’s quirky. There’s not even anything special about the parts-sharing interior (and exterior). ‘Standing out’ =/= good design necessarily
It’s like a girl thinking themselves as quirky because they watched Star Wars once
Boi, stop hatin on ma boi Juke °-°
