New Spoiler! (With Porsche 991 Racecar Attached)
If you thought last week's chav-tastic Jaguar XFR-S had the most outrageous spoiler of 2012, cop a face-full of this: the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
Based on the latest 991-generation 911, the GT3 cup gets a full stripped interior, slick tyres, lightweight wheels and a 10bhp boost over the old 997 Cup. Add it up and you get 454bhp from a 3.8-litre flat-six engine.
The big tech news is a paddleshift gearbox instead of the old car's old-skool sequential manual. You still have to balance a clutch pedal to get the Cup off the line, but other than that this is cutting edge 911 racer.
There's a hatch in the roof to get injured drivers out, but you should be pretty safe in the new 991 Cup. The seat, which looks like a giant baseball glove, is massively bolstered to stop your head knocking around if you roll your £150k racecar over driving like a n00b...
Not that you should be catching any air with that mahoosive rear wing pressing the motor-packing arse into the track. Even though the new 991 is the widest 911 ever, the Cup gets even bigger tracks and arch extensions to squeeze in monster tyres and bigger brakes.
We say spend £300k on two. One to actually race in, and one to leave box-fresh, in its factory-standard white paint. Because naked racecars are cool. Case in point...
And we like a white Porsche too. Check out Alex's drive of the Cayman R here.
One more piece of Porsche-porn? Go on then...
