This Is The New Vauxhall Corsa VXR

The Vauxhall Corsa suffers from the same problem as the Honda Civic; the young people who drive them tend to be the worst representation of the car scene imaginable, so we negatively associate the car with them. That’s unfortunate, because we drove the newest generation Corsa last year and it was a genuinely great little car.

We’ll have to wait a while to find out exactly what the new VXR version can do, but thanks to yet another leak - following the Focus RS’s early reveal today - we now at least know what it’ll look like. It’s very much as you’d expect from a hotter version of a city car, with subtly more aggressive skirts, a large front air intake, big alloy wheels and a hefty rear wing.

The interior has also been given a sporty makeover, with a set of because racecar Recaro bucket seats.

Technical details haven’t been revealed, but it’s expected to use the same 189bhp 1.6-litre turbo petrol found in the current car, plus a new suspension setup and a limited-slip differential.
