The Next VW Jetta Will Look Something Like This
The Jetta is a huge deal for VW. It’s the brand’s biggest seller in the USA, its second most popular model worldwide, and a replacement for the current version will soon be upon us.
We won’t see it until the Detroit Auto Show early next year, but VW has given us a fairly substantial teaser by releasing these design sketches.
Design sketches like these tend to be rather exaggerated, but judging by this set, the seventh-generation Jetta looks like it’ll receive a big, Arteon-style grille. Hopefully this will contribute to a more daring overall design, given that the current one is best described as conservative in the styling department.
While the sixth-gen car still sits on the same platform as the old Mk6 Golf, the new one will switch to VW Group’s widely used MQB platform.
Judging by the interior image, VW’s Active Info Display instrument binnacle will at least be an option. We’re particularly fond of the way the cowl swoops across much of the dash and incorporates the infotainment display - it’s reminiscent of the Alfa Romeo Giula’s cabin, and we might well see a similar concept appear on the next Golf.
Just don’t expect to see this car in UK showrooms for the foreseeable future. In contrast to the Jetta’s ridiculous global popularity, it just doesn’t work on our shores, where saloon cars have fallen out of favour with new car buyers. The current car was recently culled from the UK VW range, having sold just 379 units from the beginning of the year to 1 October. In the same period, VW sold 52,722 Golfs…

Looks like a Volvo to me
Weird.
I still prefer the Jetta Mk2 ;) Buildt 1987 :)
Turned into a European donk :).
A midget arteon on the outside and a 3 series bmw with an E-class instrument cluster and touchscreen essentially so in other words will sell really well if it’s a decent price and comfy
Production car
It’s the same thing, just that this production model is a base model
Looks good
Arteon did it better
That one looks hot
So, a slightly smaller Passat.
