This Is NOT How JLR Wanted To Launch Its New Range Rover Sport
The new Range Rover Sport has just leaked onto the web, more than a week ahead of its official debut. Details are scarce, but the images allegedly originate from a US window-tinting firm, who were preparing the car for a TV advert.
The Sport is based on the existing Range Rover's aluminium chassis, and will be built alongside it at Land Rover's West Midlands factory. Consequently, we expect the new Sport will be around 300kgs lighter than the outgoing model, which is based on the Discovery 4 - a car so heavy, it sinks into parking spaces.
Expect the normal array of petrols and diesels, including a supercharged 5.0-litre with upwards of 500bhp. Rumour has it a 2.0-litre diesel could be added to the line-up as the base model. It's also likely to have seven seats as an option.
Given that Land Rover has only just released its first official teasers of the model, odds are, they’re pretty livid. Luckily, it's a looker (unlike these), so we hope they don't mind too much...
