Now’s Your Chance To Buy An Amazing 500bhp Track-Spec BMW E92 M3

With its devilishly handsome good looks, high-revving V8 and brilliant chassis, the E92 M3 has gone down in history as one of the finest M cars ever built. So it might come as a surprise to learn that it was never the best track car. With weak brakes, road-biased suspension and expensive servicing, track days were not the E92’s best friend. One owner set out to rectify this, by building his own 911 GT3 rival.

Purchased in 2011 as a standard E92, no expense was spared when converting this refined road car into a track beast, something that’s immediately apparent when you look at the finished product. Under the bonnet you’ll find a Pectel SQ6 ECU, a beautiful carbon air intake system, Painless Performance light-weight race specification wiring loom and a ridiculously expensive Akrapovic titanium exhaust system. This brought power up to the 500bhp mark, so attention was quickly turned to refining the chassis.

The original suspension was removed and in its place now sits a Nitron NTR three-way adjustable set-up. The standard brakes were also junked for high-quality AP Racing six-pot items. 18-inch Rays forged wheels also help to reduce un-sprung weight and the carbon bonnet, doors and polycarbonate side and rear windows help reduce the overall weight to 1300kg (for reference the 911 GT3 RS 991 weighs 1420kg). The carbon GT3-spec rear wing, dive-planes and aggressive front splitter should also increase downforce considerably.

The interior has also received the full race car treatment. Take a look inside and you’ll spot a bespoke roll-cage, Corbeau Pro Series carbon race seats, a fully adjustable pedal box, a digital dashboard, a brake-bias adjuster and an OMP fire extinguisher system.

The car has covered just 47,000 miles and has a full BMW service history. How much for this ultimate track-day weapon you ask? Munich Legends has it up for £45,000. A bargain considering the work that’s gone into it.
