Now’s Your Chance To Own A Bonkers Corvette-Powered Wide Body 911
The demand for wide body air-cooled Porsche 993s has never been higher. It is now impossible to walk around shows like SEMA without bumping into at least a handful. And this newfound popularity all started with one man, Nakai-san, the owner of the iconic tuning workshop Rauh-Welt Begriff (RWB).
Depending on who you ask, Nakai-san’s flared body kits are are either completely sacrilegious, or hand crafted pieces of art. However, there are enough people in the latter camp to have effectively made these cars into modern day icons. As a result, the demand for these custom-made kits is extremely high and waiting lists are incredibly long. This also hasn’t been helped by the fact that Nakai-san only builds one car at a time.
There is a solution: buy an example that has already been built, like this 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera 2. This specific car isn’t actually an RWB, but to our eyes the craftsmanship looks equally as stunning as the work coming out of Japan. The kit has been created and installed by Vogue Auto Design, a premium wheel company that is relatively new to the wide body industry.
The kit features riveted front and rear wheel arches, an adjustable side skirt, an extended splitter and super aggressive canards. And if that isn’t enough, a 993 GT2 rear wing and Porsche Continental Orange paint ramps the visual impact up to 11. The results are simply stunning. Our only concern was that all this aero paraphernalia looks like it would make the car a nightmare on the street. Luckily the previous owner had thought of that, and fitted an AccuAir self-levelling coilover replacement suspension system - perfect.
Adding to this unconventional mix is the fact that the standard 3.6-litre M64 boxer motor has been removed, and replaced with a fully rebuilt 475bhp 5.7-litre V8 Corvette LS1 engine. This swap will most likely make Porsche purists cry out in pain, but the car has already been modified beyond recognition, so why not go the whole nine yards and replace its heart as well? There is only 600 miles on the motor, and with it being an LS, it should be bulletproof.
The interior is as stunning as the outside of the car. The gauges have been refurbished, the dashboard has been reupholstered and the whole lot treated to some beautiful orange stitching. The owner supposedly spent around $90,000 transforming his 993, making the $93,000 price tag seem rather reasonable.
Like the 912 we featured last week, this 993 is not a car for the Porsche purist. But we can’t help but love the outlandish nature of these vehicles. What do you think CTzens? Super 911, or super sacrilegious? Let us know!

We need this “boy who sees muscle cars and wants to ls swap everything-Meme”
I was excited when I saw corvette powered but then remembered it’s probably an ls1, wish someone would put an ls9 in instead😔
Too many LS swaps memes produce car like this.
911 with a RWB rip off kit and a lumpy LS hanging at the ass….
No.
That kit is such a blatant rip off.
Buy it, take engine out, sell it, after that put 993 Turbo engine in. Done. Things like this make me sad. Poor 911. Not all people can appreciate them.
NOOOOOO. GOD NO. NO. NO.
corvette enigne ruined it
WHY ISNT THE SPOILER CENTERED
