Now's Your Chance To Own The Sierra RS Cosworth As Driven By Jeremy Clarkson On Top Gear
Remember the brilliant episode where Clarkson, Hammond and May took three old super saloons - a Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, BMW E36 M3 and Mercedes 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth - to their limits and beyond?
The E36 M3 was the fastest car on the Autobahn (obviously, because they’re so well made…NOT), while the Sierra and 190E lagged behind by a considerable margin. But no matter, because the cool thing here is that the aforementioned Sierra - as driven by Clarkson - is now up for sale with Classic Car Auctions with an estimate of between £13,000 and £16,000. (You might remember that CCS was also the auction house that sold Hammond’s M3 a year ago).
Currently, the car has 82,000 miles on the clock, extensive service history records and a newish MoT with no advisories until March 2017.
But you won’t really be buying this car for the car. You’ll be buying it to brag to your friends about the fact that its former owner is none other than Jeremy Clarkson, and if the Cossie sells for the lower half of its reserve, then that’s a lot of bragging for not too much money.
Anyone tempted?

Remember that one dude who bought a BMW F80 M3 that has been drifted around a disused airport by the same hammer-wielding, power-obsessed maniac who drove this Sapphire Cosworth? Remember how he complained that his M3 had all sorts of mechanical issues? Are you willing to take the risk?
Yes
Anyone buying this car would know that it got lets say thoroughly used
Any car that had to with press, either as a “press-slave” from the factory or the way that that Sierra ended up with Clarkson, is completely run down when it’s “let go”.
“Currently, the car has 82,000 miles on the clock, extensive service history records and a newish MoT with no advisories until March 2017.” Sounds good for its age to me

Tempted… but I have no money…
Since Jeremy drove it, chances are it will break down, or it’s close to breaking down. So, no… :D
Now if James May drove it, then it would be a no-brainer.
That’s TV though, would he have driven it the same outside of recording?
I’m quite sure that M3 hates right hand corners…
Nonetheless,”WALL WALL WALL!!!!!!!”
Is the rear suspension still sagging/broken after that band test?
Jeremy?! MANIAC!
Who pays more for a car that was beaten to hell.. documented on TV?
“The very Sierra Sapphire Cosworth driven by Clarkson is going under the hammer!”

Scrolling the list of the auction actually…

The Sierra is by far my favourite of the three cars in that challenge, if I had the money…and lived in the UK, I’d buy it for the car as well as for its history as it’s a really nice car, which happens to sound like it’s in solid, good working order
