Normally, an image leak ahead of a car’s official reveal would provide an exciting, tantalising preview. Particularly for much anticipated sports car. But, in the case of these Porsche 911 GT2 RS images, which have been leaked online, they - for the most part - don’t show anything we’ve already seen.

Yep, although Porsche hasn’t officially revealed the car - and weirdly won’t even admit to its existence - we saw it nearly three weeks ago when it was unveiled as the Forza Motorsport 7 cover star.

But hey - the images are still worth a look, particularly since they also show the car’s highly focused interior. And just check out that lovely headrest embroidery!

On the subject of that embroidery, you might have noticed the ‘Weissach’ wording. This could indicate that - as on the 918 Spyder - the GT2 RS has a Weissach Package available.

Named after the town where Porsche Engineering Group GmbH has its headquarters, the Weissach Package on the 918 Spyder gave the car a lower weight figure through the increased use of carbonfibre in its construction, plus various aerodynamic improvements.

In terms of performance, the GT2 RS is expected to put out close to 700bhp from its twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre flat-six.

It’s the most powerful 911 ever, and we can’t wait until Porsche finally drops all the juicy details.

Porsche will just say they’re not having any more special Porsches. They’ve announced they’re taking a stand against people who do that.
