A one-of-one Huayra was crashed in Paris on Tuesday, leaving much of the car's rear end destroyed

We cannot apologise enough for leading with the above image, as it’s pretty damn horrific. It depicts a wrecked Pagani Huayra, but not just any Huayra - it’s the one-off ‘Pearl’ edition, with its exhaust and other engine parts flopped out onto the tarmac like a loved one who’s just been partially eviscerated by a pack of hungry zombies.

Little is known about the accident, other than that it took place on Tuesday in Paris, where the Pearl had been prowling around getting papped by supercar spotters over the preceding days. The driver - presumably the car’s super-rich Saudi owner - apparently lost the back end and smacked the Huayra into a tree, ripping off the left rear wheel and much of the rear quarter.

Powered by the same 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 as the standard Huayra - no doubt with a slight hike in power - the Pearl features a unique, Zonda-inspired split rear wing plus a roof-mounted carbonfibre ‘snorkel’. How much the customer paid was never revealed, but you can bet it was a seven-figure number.

I’ll be the one to say it. Hey Bro, doesn’t look like you need that titanium exhaust. How much you want for it?

Oh look, another million plus car wrecked on public streets, in a city. Exclusive hypercars are truly a good investment.
