Investigators looking into the crash that took the lives of Paul Walker and Roger Rodas have found no evidence of a mechanical failure.

A law enforcement official involved with the investigation, who wishes to remain anonymous, told The Associated Press that the car lost control due to "speed, and speed alone."

The investigation has also ruled out any debris in the road contributing to the Porsche Carrera GT losing control.

Investigators will not release the speed the car was traveling until Porsche engineers travel to California in the new year to analyse on-board data collectors.
