A new, free-to-play version of Forza will be available for Windows 10 users from spring, and following that, all Forza Motorsport titles will be released for both PC and Xbox One

PC Gamers Rejoice: Forza 6: Apex Is Coming To Windows 10, And It’s Free-To-Play

If you’re a PC gamer and want to get in on some Forza action, we have two lots of very good news. Firstly, we have Forza Motorsport 6: Apex to look forward to, which will be available for free for all Windows 10 users from spring.

It’s a little like a cut-down version of Forza 6, and from launch, it’ll feature 12 ‘themed’ racing events, over 60 cars and a new objective system. Everything is unlockable through gameplay, although it’s possible that a system of microtransactions might be brought in, should any gamers want a shortcut.

The second chunk of news is more significant. Rather than being a commercial venture, Apex is intended to be a showcase of where the Forza Motorsport series is going in the future. Why? Because all future titles will be released for both the Xbox One and for PCs. Good news indeed.

Growing up on a diet of World Rally Championship highlights and lengthy Gran Turismo 2 sessions, a life in cars was as good as inevitable for Matt.

My G27 better work with it!

I was hoping mine would work with it as well. But so far, it looks like that won’t be the case. At this point, there are no plans for multiplayer or wheel support :(

Windows 10 only? How about windows 7?

Windows 7 doesn’t have the UWA base. It maybe available on win8/8.1

I think you can still upgrade to 10 for free if you really want it

I think it being Microsoft and the fact that theyre pushing so hard to get everyone to Windows 10 I kinda doubt it. But it is a free upgrade for people to have 7 to 10 and 10 while it is a little different, works really well and you get used to it fairly quickly.

Actually will there any tuning car options like in the console version? Or its just going to be normal racing game?

It won’t, just as GT won’t come to xbox and Super Smash Bros won’t go to either any time soon. Sorry, it’s just the nature of the console wars and, well… War never changes.
