Pininfarina Has Secured Rimac Power For The 1900bhp PF0 Hypercar
The 1900bhp Automobili Pininfarina PF0 will produce its massive output courtesy of a Rimac powertrain, it has been confirmed. The ultra-exclusive electric hypercar will use a bespoke configuration of batteries, motors and driveline for the 150-car production run.
The contract marks Rimac’s first series production drivetrain supply deal. Sized neatly not to overload the company’s resources while also giving it licence not to worry too much about costs, the Pininfarina arrangement should help Rimac grow its business plan to a new stage of capability.
Also revealed today is the acquisition of two key new members of senior staff. Pininfarina’s new Senior Technical Advisor is Dr Christian Jung, whose CV includes time at BMW, Porsche and Faraday Future in California. At Porsche he was the director for e-mobility systems design and one of the main men during the Mission E project’s early stages.
The second new appointment is Dr Peter Tutzer, once a Porsche chief engineer in the motorsport division before moving to help develop the Pagani Zonda’s chassis and layout. Later, he then moved to Bugatti where he played a major part in the engineering of the Veyron.
To add to the new engineering talent is a new test driver. Nick Heidfeld brings 20 years of motorsport driving experience to the table, most recently in Formula E, and will be able to feed valuable subjective driving dynamics data back to the team at Pininfarina’s new Munich headquarters.
Designed in Germany and built in Italy, the PF0 was revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours of Elegance along with details of its rough top speed and its claimed ability to sprint to 62mph in under two seconds.

How much horsepower etc, before the tires can’t handle it?
We’ll probably find out soon enough.
Proably olny 1500 like on the chiron just my guess
Rimac made a 1914 bhp prototype that will go into production. Unlike the ICE, gears are much longer so 1900 bhp is easier to handle by an EV than by the ICE
Options:
1) they remove the dual clutch gearboxes from the rear - lower top speed but less weight
2) they keep powertrain the same, which I doubt, since Pininfarina announced the lower top speed. Also having two cars that are too similar is kinda dumb in the hypercar world. I can see the Pininfarina one as a more track focused one and Rimac the luxury one.
They do have a lot in common. Both companies design assets for others. Rimac does infotainment for the Valkyre, Seat. Pininfarina designed Ferraris.
Man you SURREEE love rimac
No hate against doing that. (Definitely my no.1 favourite electric car company, and one of my favourite in general)
Just pointing the obvious.
You should probably chill out about them though
they might also have kept the same drivetrain but focused the gearing on acceleration at the cost of top speed
Damn they got everyone from every where working on this
Now what’s the top speed?
His massive forehead
The thirst for speed may result in hair loss, some people say
It better not look stupid
Will Hammond crash this one too? Find out on Season 4 on Gran—-wait…
Well since this is a redesigned Rimac C_Two he might crash twice in the same season
How dull.
hammond crashing intensifies
