The Pontiac Aztek Has Some Seriously Weird Features

Doug DeMuro - lover of quirks in cars - dissects the oh-so weird Aztek, which is awash with all sorts of strange features

The Pontiac Aztek is becoming cool in an ironic way, mostly due to being the daily driver of everyone’s favourite meth manufacturer, Walter White. But, it’s a fascinating vehicle for many more reasons than its role in Breaking Bad.

Who knew the Aztek had a split-folding tailgate, like a Range Rover? Or a built-in cooler? Or its own Aztek-branded blow-up mattress? As a Brit who’s never seen one of these things up close, I certainly didn’t.

What we have here might just be the only genuine ‘lifestyle’ vehicle ever made…

I’ve never really hate the Aztek for the looks of it, except for the engine and transmission though. It looks nice and unique, back in the days where almost every car are the same. If it was sold in my country, and came with a manual and more powerful engine, I’d be happy to buy one.

I made my choice before seeing this video, but I won’t deny that this made me want an Aztek even more. I’m honestly excited to get one of these for my first car :)
