Porsche 911 Driver Shows Us How Not To Launch Control
A 991.1-generation 911 driver is seen performing a launch control start while trying to merge onto a highway, with predictably disastrous results
You have to wonder if the bystanders outside this car meet in Paramus, New Jersey knew what was coming next. Yes, people leaving such events in an exuberant fashion is nothing new, but as you see this 991.1-generation Porsche 911 pulling up to make is exit and furiously fiddling with various settings, you know it’s not going to end well.
Sure enough, he engages launch control. To merge onto a highway. You can see where this is going, can’t you?
Contact with a barrier soon occurs, although fortunately before the 911 built up any real speed. Damage should hopefully be minimal, but the man’s pride? That’s going to take some time to heal.

Launch control is god’s way of saying you can’t pull away from a standstill without having to show off
