We could soon be seeing an influx of 997 911 GT3s in the World Rally Championship, which is the best news we’ve heard in ages. UK-based Tuthill Porsche has built an FIA-spec GT3 that has been approved for entry into the GT class of the top tier rally championship, and it looks awesome. Just look at that wing!

The car was unveiled recently at the Harry Flatters rally event in Wales, where it served as a course car. The footage above shows the car’s immense grip through corners, and it soaks up jumps impressively. It’s great to see a new era of 911 in rallying, continuing a long history epitomised by the likes of the 911 Safari.

Richard Tuthill, one of the men responsible for this car, said “it’s taken a determined effort by our team to get FIA approval for a modern 911 in current WRC rallying, but we’re delighted to have finally accomplished this.”
