Porsche has been famously reluctant to authorise the use of its cars in video games, and signed an exclusivity agreement with Electronic Arts. Up until now, if you didn’t fancy throwing money at the EA juggernaut, the closest you could get to driving one of Stuttgart’s finest was a Ruf. Well that’s all set to change, as Microsoft, Turn 10 Studios and EA have reached an agreement that allows Porsches to feature in both Forza Horizon 2 and the forthcoming Forza Motorsport 6.

The first fruit of this relationship comes in the form of Horizon 2 DLC, available from 9 June. Here’s the full car list:

  • 1970 Porsche 914/6
  • 1982 Porsche 911 Turbo 3.3
  • 1987 Porsche 959
  • 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo
  • 2003 Porsche Carrera GT
  • 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (997)
  • 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S
  • 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder
  • 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS
  • 2015 Porsche Macan Turbo

There’s a really nice mix of retro classics and modern heroes in there, but on top of the cars, the DLC features 10 Bucket List events, 10 Rivals events, and 15 achievements.

Turn 10 hasn’t revealed exactly what cars will feature in Forza Motorsport 6, but if the game’s leaked screenshots are anything to go by, the recreations will be gorgeous. Which car from the above list are you most looking forward to blasting through southern Europe?
