Porsche's New Four-Pot Engines Sound Pretty Damn Good In This 'Ring Testing Video
A Boxster and Cayman have been spotted at the Nurburgring, and from the sounds of it, both are being used as mules to test Porsche's new four-pot boxer engines
As lovers of the noise made by Porsches with flat-sixes, we were sad to hear that the next generations of Boxster and Cayman will adopt four-pot engines, even if it’s an inevitable move in the current climate. However, this footage has now emerged, which - judging by the sound - shows a current-gen Boxster and Cayman being used as test mules for the new flat-four engines. It’s not a bad sound at all - a very deep burble - and we rather like it.
The new engines will be available in 1.6-litre, 2.0-litre and 2.5-litre capacities, with power outputs of 210, 268 and 360bhp respectively.
