Prepare Yourselves: Rimac's Next Hypercar Will Arrive Early 2018

Remember that all-new Rimac hypercar we were talking about a few months ago? We now know when and where it’ll be revealed to the world.

Rimac announced today that its second car - which it dubs “a true game changer” - will be revealed at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, which will take place from 8 March. The Croatian company also revealed the shadowy teaser image you see above, and although vague, we like like what we see thus far.

No further details were given with the announcement, but Rimac COO Monika Mikac recently revealed to Autocar that the new machine will be a little bigger than the 1224bhp Concept One (above), while remaining a two-seater. Performance will increase even further, and 100 will be built, compared to 10 examples of the One (eight road cars and two track-only specials). Oh, and it’ll also be even more expensive, so expect a price rather far north of £1 million.

Roll on March 2018…

I don’t think we will have enough petrol in future anyway. So better if we accept it (I am a purist too)

Well you have to give these EV guys a credit. One day, petrol will run out, and we car guys will still have a place to go…

Performance will increase even further? There isn’t really much further you can go from here, is there? Knowing Rimac, they’ll probably surprise everyone with some crazy quad-motor, quad-gearbox 2000hp+ monster with craptons of aero. I don’t say this lightly, but Koenigsegg, watch out.

The car will be lighter, a carbon fibre tub and newly designed chassis. And surely more energy-dense batteries.
