Prodrive's 592bhp Subaru WRX STI Just Broke The IOM TT Lap Record Again
It did seem like the bonkers Subaru WRX STI Prodrive sent around the Isle of Man TT course at the weekend had more to give, and sure enough, it’s just set an even faster time. The weekend run yielded a 17min 49.75sec lap and a 126.971mph average, but today driver Mark Higgins slashed nearly 15 seconds off that time to give a 17:35.139 at a 128.730mph average.
So, can it go any faster? At the moment, we’re not sure. Michael Fernie, our man in the field, reports that while the car will be running again on Friday and potentially on Wednesday (if there’s a pause in the bike racing for any reason), it’s currently experiencing engine issues due to extreme temperatures building up under the bonnet.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on Prodrive’s efforts later in the week to see if that record falls again.

skoda 120 would beat it like nothing :D
Subaru be like…
Has nobody ever attempted to drive a Porsche 918 or Ferrari 458 on this track?
How far we are from Snaeffel to become second Nurburgring?
Subaru made it with no fourwheel competition around. GT-R fanboys be like “bro, stock Godzilla would smash it bro”. So inevitably next year we’ll see more of that around. Hope there will be serious crashes. That is a DEADLY piece of the road.
Why are they not competing in the WRC? :-/
because the current rules do not allow a subaru to compete
Speedmaster nice!
