Project Cars 2 Already Confirmed: It'll Be Crowd-Funded And Will Feature Rallycross
It’s been a long old wait for Project Cars, but it was finally available for download yesterday. We’ve been playing it in the build up to its release, and were left mildly underwhelmed after all the hype. But no sooner had we come to terms with the fact we could finally play the finished product, an email dropped in my inbox from a Car Throttle reader with confirmation that the second game is on its way (they’ve asked to remain anonymous as information shared within the forum is supposed to stay private).
Ian Bell, Head of Studio at Slightly Mad Studios, confirmed in a private forum post that crowdfunding for the series’ second instalment is definitely happening, and could begin as early as ‘next week’. We’d guess the team will wait until the first game is released in North America on 12 May before starting the new campaign.
Bell wasn’t giving much away, but he did confirm that one of the new disciplines that will appear in Project Cars 2 is Rallycross. This is good news, as the current World Rallycross Championship is one of the most exciting motorsport series in the world right now.
Obviously this is a very long way from release, but you can expect an optimistic release date some time during 2017.
