Readers' Rides: Shelby's Fresh 350Z
We're heading back to Canada for today's Readers' Rides. After seeing fellow Saskatchewan resident Alex have his hot rod truck featured, Shelby got in touch to show off his Nissan 350Z.
When he first picked it up it was in a bad way, but after a lot of time and money it's now the perfect summer ride. Over to Shelby to talk you through his Z...
Hey, my name is Shelby from Saskatchewan, Canada. My summer ride is a 2003 Nissan 350Z Performance Model which I bought last year - it'll never be driven in winter! The guy before me never took care of it, so I brought it up to scratch.
Honestly I never expected to own a Z at 19-years-old. I was looking for a summer car and my dad found this one locally. I had no idea what to expect, but from the first moment I set my eyes on it, I fell in love. It had everything I was looking for in a sports car.
The journey home was fun, because it was closer to spring when all the snow was starting to melt! And it wasn't long before I wanted to start adding bits.
Over winter, while the Z was keeping warm in my garage, I ordered lowering springs for it which will drop it over an inch. Hood spacers and a carbonfibre air duct are also on the way.
I have many more goals for this car such as rims and doing up the engine a bit, but I am working on it a little at a time. One of my goals in life was to own a sports car, and I really did not expect to own one at this age. The opportunity was there so I took it.
If you want your car featured on Readers' Rides, email darren.cassey@carthrottle.com with a pic and a few words explaining why you love it so much. If we like it, we'll feature it!
