Red Details And Performance Add-Ons Define A New Flagship Porsche Macan

Very closely related to the Macan Turbo with Performance Package, the Porsche Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition has a few extra bells and whistles - and it doesn't come cheap
Red Details And Performance Add-Ons Define A New Flagship Porsche Macan

Well, Porsche has been busy. As well as the new 911 Carrera T, we’ve caught wind of a new Macan with a name almost as massive as its power output. Welcome to the 434bhp Porsche Macan Turbo Exclusive Performance Edition.

Based on the Macan Turbo with Performance Package, it uses that car’s uprated 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 and has the same output. That’s 40bhp more than the standard Macan Turbo has, if you’re wondering.

The 14-syllable model is good for a 0-62mph launch in 4.4 seconds and tops out at 169mph, mainly because its SUV body is about as aerodynamic as a fridge. Overtaking pace is handy, with 50-75mph taking 2.9 seconds.

If we’re honest, though, the main news is on the aesthetics front. It has the Turbo’s 21-inch 911 Turbo Design alloys, plus LED headlights and subtle body kit. Carmine Red details on the PorMaTurExPerEd’s front and rear bumpers set it apart, as well as a red ‘Macan Turbo’ logo.

As standard the model comes with the 15mm lower suspension setup as part of the Porsche Performance Package, plus Porsche Active Suspension Management, the Sport Chrono Package and the sports exhaust.

Fuel economy, not that you’d care, is about 29mpg. The price for all this barnstorming SUV silliness starts from £86,267 in Britain. Just the £22,000 or so more expensive than a regular Macan Turbo, then…

Honestly, I like a company like Porsche, that releases interesting cars 3 times a day more than a company like Fiat that releases one car in 3 years.

50-75mph in 2.9s is damn fast, you are looking at Corvette levels of performance here.

The amount of work needed to get a car to go from 50 to 75mph is about equal to the amount of work needed to go from 0 to 55mph.

Shortening that name only makes it more difficult than it already it to get your head around that name. They’ll have to cite their catalogue because the body would be full of letters.

I agree, but the macan is incredibly fun for its size!
