Rejoice: The Dodge Hellcat V8 Is Now Available As A Crate Engine
Ladies and gentlemen, let us present the Holy Grail of crate engines. That’s right, Dodge’s 6.2-litre supercharged ‘Hellcat’ HEMI V8 can now be bought in crate form, making its 697bhp (707hp) brawn available for the maddest of project car builds.
It’s called the Hellcrate (obviously), and it’s yours for $19,530. You’re probably going to want the Engine Kit (below) on top of that, which will set you back $2195. It includes a powertrain control module, engine wiring harness, an accelerator pedal, various sensors and a fuel pump control module.
The Hellcrate - which has a muscular 650lb ft torque figure to go along with its 697bhp - has a three year, unlimited-mileage warranty from Mopar to complete a worry-free, shouty V8 package. In terms of transmissions, Dodge recommends the engine is hooked up to a six-speed Tremec Magnum manual gearbox.
So the question is, what would you stick a Hellcrate engine in? Comment below with your ideas…

Something tiny with that engine would be so much fun.
Like a Mini Cooper.
Honestly dodge is the coolest company. This is how all car brands should be run because they make their fan base happy. Dodge seems to actually care about what their customers would want. Props to dodge
Wonder how Tesla would do that… Inb4 they offer special discounts on Panasonic batteries if you own a Tesla that you can’t even swap the batteries out of… or maybe the electric motors perhaps. 🤔
yeah and skoda and tesla also doesnt care about money
I mostly agree with that, but what about the Viper?
Dodge charges (ba-dum-tsss) too much for their crate engines, I like Ford and chevy’s pricing better
Technically every car company appeals to what customers want (which is why we have so many crossovers). Dodge is just appealing to the petrolhead end of the spectrum which is smaller and less profitable
Time to swap this in an RX-7 🌚
That would be a mad, mad creation of a car. The power combined with the light weight of a RX-7 could create one of two things-an insane, unbeatable package at drag strips and drift events, or an undrivable beast!
Screw that, swap it into an MR2!
Screw that, swap it into an MR2!
The gran tour now have a way to make a 707 hp blender
I want to see a Miata with that!
Alex Kersten you know you wanna do it mann……………….
Good bye LS swaps, hello Hellcat swaps… For wealthy people, at least.
Nah that block is much taller than an LS.
It looks like a good day, Dodge and Honda making moves.
Now: just Ls swap it
Future: hellcat it
When you want to piss off purists and go into MAXIMUM OVERDRIVE
will it fit in my cayman cos me want
Swap this in that cayman that has the 5.0 Coyote motor and up the power some. That would be a lively car to say the least. You’d probably lose traction in the rear just by putting on your turn signals
Insert the obligatory ‘Would this fit in my Honda’ comment here
